Welcome! Thanks for visiting my site!
Education:
My name is Trysta. I am a Certified Master Herbalist in East/West Herbology as well as a graduate from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a B.S. in Integrative Therapeutic Practices and a minor in Spanish! My collegiate studies were deeply science-based with courses such as Genetics, Microbiology, a lot of Anatomy and Physiology, Organic and Biochemistry, Nutrition etc. My education also focused on balanced healthcare with courses such as Healthcare Counseling, Intercultural Competence, Holistic Health, Ayurveda, TCM, Botanical Pharmocology and on and on. The mechanics of our bodies are amazing and the manner with which we approach healing can drastically alter our capacity to heal.
My education in Herbology has been varied and continues each and everyday. I have had the great pleasure of studying under many very wonderful teachers: Rachel Lord, the founder of JFH school and CMT/MH who studied with Peter Holmes, Laura Golub-Matthews with whom I studied Western Herbs and Reproductive Herbal Medicine and Mayan Uterine Abdominal Massage techniques as well as apprenticed/interned at Holistic Pathways–who studied with the late/great Michael Moore at SWSBM, I was blessed to be introduced to Sacred Plant Medicine and wild plant identification with Joan Zinn of Medicine Hill Herbs, and have had the privilege of studying TCM and Chinese Herbology with Luke Terry LAc extraordinaire and President of Just for Health School. I also learned so much from many of my fellow classmates and friends–thank-you to you all
A bit more personal…

As a child I would attempt to create flower essences in my backyard, gather fresh flowers and plants to create magical and healing concoctions, cook beans with only the power of the sun, talk to frogs and other free animals, collect rainwater for various potions, speak to the trees and flowers: I have always felt a deep connection to the world and all who inhabit it.
This journey for me, was set in stone while living in Alaska, for a little less than a year. During a short period while was up there I lived with this amazing woman, Pam and my friend/her daughter Colette. We talked and walked and created lip-glosses, ate organic foods and meditated. It was a pivotal time for me, which I can now appreciate, see and understand.
I have amazing women in my life: healers, who have passed on a lot of wisdom and knowledge to me throughout my life. My mother is a very talented Ob-Gyn Nurse Practitioner, imparting upon me the notions of female health and well-being all during my childhood and to this day. I was raised with an awareness of cultural diversity and the intense beauty with which others live their lives and the knowledge that as Women we are powerful beings. Watching Mom go through nursing school, then NP school, helping her study with flashcards and listening to pharmacology tapes in the minivan are a few ways I really learned about Western Medicine. As an adult I worked with her as a Nurse’s Assistant in Labor and Delivery for about a year which was life-altering and fascinating. The experiences and education my Mom has provided me have been more than pivotal. I am passionate about Women’s Health and have a diverse and solid education in both Conventional and Traditional/Complimentary methods of working with Women’s bodies. I have been delighted to see an integration happening in this field and want to be a part of that!

Another hugely influencial woman in my life has been my Grams, who is a recently retired RN, that had integrated complimentary methods such as Healing Touch into her practice as well as travels the world whenever possible: she is amazing. She has expanded my little mind from the beginning with history and cultural anthropology, books and a fervent fascination for the world.
My Grandma Linda was a substance abuse counselor, acutely aware of the human paradigm. She had an amazingly unique way at viewing life.
My mother-in-law, Karen, continues to show me the ways of caring for and growing plants. She has a magically green-thumb! I have been blessed with such powerful, intelligent and beautiful women in my life.
I am a mother of two beautiful and strong little girls and an amazingly happy baby boy and a wife to a very hard-working, guitar-playing man. I hope to impart a little wisdom, knowledge, understanding and assistance with my writings and enjoy sharing my love for photography. I am available for consultations and would love the chance to assist you on your path to wellness.
